Morjiah Not Salafis ‘Ali al-Timimi

by hijralishahada in Refutations

{An e-mail sent by Sheikh ‘Ali at-Tamimi regarding the Salafi cult…}

as-Salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu:

al-Hamdulillah was-Salatu was-Salamu ala Rasulillah:

Over the past few years I have written in this forum on a few occasions in defense of the aqida of Ahl as-Sunna from the onslaught of this contemporary movement of Irja’ that disguises itself as Salafiya. (Indeed, the fatwa by the Permanent Council last year against the book written by Murad Shukri refers to this group espousing Irja’ as calling themselves the Salafis of Jordan.)

The “rabid” (in reference to the hadith of the 73 groups which describes the spreading of desires amongst them as a person bitten by a rabid dog penetrating every joint and vein.) followers of this group in the West - many of them not possessing either knowledge of Arabic or sharia sciences - have over the years claimed many things about me: from forging Sh Ibn Baz’s signature to the Kuwaiti declaration (which I translated and read in the lecture entitled a Word of Advice to the Salafis of the UK) to more recently being an agent of the US government and an associate of Kabbani in fighting Ahl as-Sunna.

Many times brothers and sisters have contacted me asking me to defend myself and rebut these allegations. I would remind them that first of all none of us youth should defend himself as none of those involved - especially me - are of any importance to be a topic of discussion let alone to go about defending one’s self. Secondly, that we should be people of the manhaj of Ahl as-Sunna.

This manhaj means that we defend the aqeeda as it is aqeeda and not because it is esposued by certain personalities.

Secondly, this manhaj means that we recognize the truth because it is truth not because so and so said it. And hence we should double and redouble efforts in learning our religion.

Thirdly, part of this manhaj is not arguing with Ahl al-Bid’a. If we recognize that those who we are in dispute with are not from Ahl as-Sunna in these matters then we should not argue with them but rather present the truth clearly and with good manners (something which they do not display.)

Fourthly, it is only a matter of time before the truth becomes manifest. If we are upon the truth then we should be certain that this truth will become apparent as falsehood by Divine decree must vanish and only the truth must remain.

This latest fatwa by the Permanent Council against the book by al-Anbari is just further proof to the above and is part of a chain of evidences against this group. Among the more notable evidences:

1. Sh Bakr Abu Zaid’s letter against Sh Rabi’ al-Madkhali’s book against Sayyid Qutb in which he cautions Sh Rabi not to pass out his good deeds by twisting the words of the dead. 2. Sh Ibn Jibrin’s fatwa against Sh Rabi’s works against both Sayyid Qutb and Abdurrahman Abdulkhaliq in which he reminds us that Ibn Baz interceded for Sayyid Qutb that he not be executed. 3. The tape by Sh al-Albani regarding Sayyid Qutb in which Sh al-Albani mentions that parts of Sayyid Qutb’s tafseer where Divinely inspired and that all Salafis should read a chapter of Milestones and his description of Sh Rabi’s book against Sayyid Qutb (when a passage of which was read to him) as ignorance. 4. The econium of Sh Ibn Baz to the declaration of the Kuwaiti students of knowledge. 5. The econium of Sh Ibn Baz to Sh Abdurrahman Abdul-Khaliq’s book as-Sirat in which Sh Ibn baz calls for the printing and distribution of the book even though the book has a section entitled Tawhid al-Hukm. 6. The fatwa by The Permanent Council against Murad Shukri’s book Ihkam at-Taqrir describing the book as passing off the beliefs of the astray Murji’a as those of the Salaf and Ahl as-Sunna and calling its author and publisher (Ali al-Halabi) to repent and banning the distribution of the book. 7. The latest fatwa by The Permanent Council against al-Anbari’s book. 8. Sh al-Albani’s agreement with Sh Salman al-Awda’s distinction between al-Firqa an-Najiya and at-Ta’ifa al-Mansura. This issue which is one of ijtihad was used by Sh Rabi to write a whole book against Sh Salman. 9. The book al-Insaf by Sh Bakr Abu Zaid against this group’s attack of the scholars and the du’at.

And much, much more… which I have decided not to mention out of consideration of this already lengthy e-mail as it is.

Truly this group is as they have been described: They are Khawarij with regards to the du’at (preachers); Murji’a with regards to the rulers; Rafida with regards to the jamaa’at (Islamic groups); and Qadariya with regards to the Jews, Christians, and infidels.

I ask my brothers and sisters who have fallen into this fitna that they reconsider some of their positions and repent from these astray beliefs. I also request of my brothers and sisters who have been preserved from this fitna not to rejoice at the error of their brethren but rather to thank Allah for guiding them and use this opportunity to wisely and gently bring our brothers back to the truth. Let us not forget that the overwhelming majority of these brothers/sisters remain staunch supporters of tawhid and sunna who have been deluded into this fitna thinking that they are defending Allah’s religion. While in reality they are only defending a throne which cares less for them or their leaders. May Allah forgive us our transgressions and bring us to His Truth gently.

Akhookum,

Ali

Allah’s Sunnah With Those Who Insult His Messenger

by hijralishahada in History

“…And from the ways of Allah is that in regards to those who harm Allah and His Messenger whom the believers cannot punish, then Allah Himself takes sufficient revenge on behalf of His Messenger. For example, the story of Allah’s one-by-one destruction of those who mocked the Prophet (peace be upon him) is well known, as has been mentioned by the scholars of history and tafsir. They were a small group of the heads of Quraysh, including al-Walid bin Mughirah, al-‘As bin Wa’il, al-Aswadan bin ‘Abd al-Mutallib, Ibn ‘Abd Yaghuth, and al-Harith bin Qays.

Also, the Prophet (peace be upon him) wrote to Kisra (the king of Persia) and Caesar (the king of Rome), while neither of them had entered into Islam. However, Caesar respected the letter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and treated his ambassador in a fine manner, so his kingdom was kept for him, and this is why it was said: “His kingdom remains for him among his descendants until today.” As for Kisra, he tore the letter of the Messenger of Allah into pieces and mocked him. As a result, Allah caused Kisra to be killed soon after, and caused his kingdom to be torn into pieces, and there did not remain for any of the future Kisras any kingdom, and this – and Allah Knows best – is in accordance with the phrase “the flesh of the scholars is poisonous.” So, how would it be with the flesh of the Prophets (peace be upon them)?

And in the ‘Sahih,’ it is narrated: “Allah the Exalted says: “Whoever declares his enmity to a close ally of Mine, then I declare war on him.”” So, how would it be in the case of the one who declares his enmity to the Prophets?

Whoever Allah declares war upon, then he will no doubt be fought!

If you read the stories of the Prophets mentioned in the Qur’an, then you will find that their people were destroyed the moment they began harming their Prophets by throwing at them the nastiest of words and actions. This is how the Children of Israel had humiliation thrown upon them, and this is how they earned the anger of Allah, and they had nobody to help them against Him – all of this, because they killed the Prophets without any right, in addition to their disbelief, as Allah mentioned in His Book. And you will not find anybody who ever harmed a Prophet from the Prophets – and did not repent from this – except that Allah would strike him with some type of calamity or disaster soon after. And we have previously mentioned the efforts of the Muslims in hastening their punishment of the disbelievers who insulted the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and we mentioned many different examples of this, and this is a wide door of discussion that cannot be mentioned here in its entirety.

An example of this is what has been mentioned regarding a huge group of the Muslims in our times, when they were laying siege to the fortresses and cities of the Romans on the Syrian coast. They said: “We used to lay siege to the castle or city for a month or more without being able to penetrate it. As soon as we would hear that its people began insulting the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and attacking his honor, our victory over them was suddenly and miraculously made quick and easy, and would not come beyond a day or two afterward. The gates of the area would open, and we would proceed to attack them severely. We would be extremely happy with this speedy victory when we heard their slander of him (peace be upon him), despite our hearts being filled with rage because of what they had said.”

And similar accounts were narrated from our trustworthy companions from Morocco, as their incidents with the Christians there were similar.

So, from the ways of Allah is that He sometimes punishes His enemies with a torment of His own, and He sometimes does so at the hands of His believing servants.”

Memorize the Qur’an before anything else

by hijralishahada in Sincerity

Often we see Muslims now focus heavily on studying Fiqh or Hadeeth and some use that knowledge to argue with the knowledgeable ones or the ones who have the proper ‘Aqeedah (but may not be as knowledgable). The point that the Salaf have made, over and over again, is that what matters first is your memorization of Qur’an. This is the first step in becoming a sincere student of knowledge; otherwise, in many cases, it’s seeking knowledge not for sincere implementation, but for some other goal that is tained with the whispers of Shaytan. We have seen brothers who were well-versed in Fiqh but were completely devoid of guidance and brothers who were well-versed in Hadeeth but could barely recite Qur’an properly. Can you imagine the Mujahideen learning Hanafi fiqh, for example, so that they may be able to argue with the Scholars? It is inconceivable to even fathom it simply because they are the pillars of sincerity in the Ummah. So take example from them and hasten to memorize the book of Allah.

The following quotations from the ‘Ulema should suffice in accepting this.

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, ????? ????, said:

“As for seeking to memorize the Qur‘aan, then this is to be given preference over many of the things that the people consider to be knowledge, but are - in reality - either totally useless, or having little benefit. It is also to be given precedence in learning especially by those who wish to acquire knowledge of the Deen, its principles and its particulars. Since what is prescribed for such a person at this time is that he should begin by memorizing the Qur‘aan, as it is the foundation of the branches of the knowledge of the Deen. This is contrary to what is done by many of the people of innovation from the non-Arabs and other than them, in that one of them will pre-occupy himself with superfluous parts of knowledge; such as kalaam (rhetorical speech) and argumentation; or very rare matters of differences; and blind-following; which there is no need for; or very strange and rare ahaadeeth, which are not established, nor of benefit; and many discussions which do not establish proofs. And he abandons memorizing the Qur‘aan which is more important than all of this.” [Al-Fataawaa al-Kubraa (2/54-55)]

Muhammad Ibn al-Fadl, ????? ????, said:

“I heard my grandfather say: I asked my father for permission to study under Qutaybah so he said: “First learn the Qur‘aan and then I will give you permission.” So I memorised the Qur‘aan by heart. So he said to me: “Remain until you have led the people in prayer with it (i.e for Taraaweeh Prayer).” So I did so, then after the ‘Eed he gave me permission, so I left for Marw.” [Reported by adh-Dhahabi in Tadhkirat ul-Huffaadh (2/722)]

Al-Imam an-Nawawi, ????? ????,said:

“So the first thing he should begin with is memorization of the mighty Qur‘aan, which is the most important branches of knowledge. And the Salaf did not use to teach Hadeeth or Fiqh, except to one who memorized the Qur‘aan. So when he has memorized it, then let him beware of pre-occupying himself from it with Hadeeth, Fiqh or other things, to the extent that it leads him to forget anything of the Qur‘aan, or makes that likely.” [From the introduction to al-Majmoo’ Sharh ul-Muhadhhab (1/38)]

IMPORTANT DUA OF QUNOOT

by hijralishahada in Refutations

In order to implement your kufr bi tagoot, we remind brothers and sisters of this dua;

“There is nothing wrong with reciting Qunoot after rukoo?, or with adding curses against the kuffaar, sending blessings on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) or praying for the Muslims in the second half of Ramadaan, because it is proven that the imaam used to do this at the time of ?Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him). At the end of the hadeeth of ?Abd al-Rahmaan ibn ?Ubayd al-Qaari mentioned above, it says: ?? They used to curse the kuffaar in the middle, saying, ?Allaahumma qaatil al-kafarata alladheena yasuddoona ?an sabeelik wa yukadhdhiboona rusulak wa laa yu?minoona bi wa?dik. Wa khaalif bayna kalimatihim wa alqi fi quloobihim al-ru?b wa alqi ?alayhim rijzaka wa ?adhaabak ilaah al-haqq (O Allaah, destroy the kuffaar who are trying to prevent people from following Your path, who deny Your Messengers and who do not believe in Your promise (the Day of Judgement). Make them disunited, fill their hearts with terror and send Your wrath and punishment against them, O God of Truth).? Then he would send blessings on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and pray for good for the Muslims as much as he could, and seek forgiveness for the believers.”

Why Sufyan Would Urinate Blood

by hijralishahada in History, Sincerity

Here are some compiled bits that can help us overcome fear of people and encourage us to speak the truth when it needs to be said in light of the words of the Messenger (sallallahu ‘alayhi wassallam) in ‘as-Silsilah as-Sahihah’ (168): “A man should not let his intimidation by people prevent him from speaking the truth if he knows it, witnesses it, or hears it.”

Fadlullah al-Jilani said in ‘Fadlillah as-Samad fi Tawdih al-Adab al-Mufrad’ (2/45):

“If it is said that the one who has haya’ is shy to speak the truth, causing him to leave off commanding the good and forbidding the bad, and that his haya’ leads him to shortcomings in fulfilling some obligations, as is normally the case, I say that this is not true haya’. Rather, it is incompetence and weakness and subjugation, and it is referred to as haya’ simply by way of likeness and simile. True haya’ is only when the thing he has haya’ of doing is truly bad, and there is no consideration for what the people consider to be bad when it is in fact something good or vice versa…And it is established that the Prophet had more haya’ than a virgin in the innermost portion of her home, and he is an example for us in this. With this, there was nothing to prevent his anger if the limits of Allah were violated.”

al-Albani mentioned in ‘Adab az-Zifaf’ (p. 129) that Salim bin ‘Abdillah got married and invited people to the wedding, and Abu Ayyub was one of those invited. They had covered the walls of their home with green rugs. Abu Ayyub came and looked around to see the house’s walls covered in green sheets and said: “O ‘Abdullah! You cover the walls with rugs?” Salim’s father replied: “The women have overpowered us, Abu Ayyub!” So, Abu Ayyub said: “You were the last person who I feared would be overpowered by women! I will not eat from your food or enter your homes!” And he left.

(This is because many scholars considered it disliked or even prohibited to cover walls with rugs, considering it to be a form of extravagance.)

In ‘Tarikh Baghdad’ (11/361), it is related that al-Ma’mun was sitting one day with some traders to chat with them regarding some goods they had to sell. Suddenly, he was reminded of some business he had to tend to, and got up to leave. Everyone else in the room got up except for Ibn al-Ja’d, as he stayed where he was sitting. So, al-Ma’mun looked at him in anger and said: “Why didn’t you get up like your friends did?” He replied: “Out of respect for the hadith that was narrated to us from the Prophet.” He asked: “And what is it?” ‘Ali bin al-Ja’d replied: “I heard Mubarak bin Fudalah say that he heard from al-Hasan that the Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever loves that the people stand up for him should prepare his seat in Hell.”” So, al-Ma’mun stood and pondered over the hadith, then raised his head and said: “Nobody should purchase anything except from this man,” and that day, he sold 30,000 dinars worth of goods.

al-Ghazzali related in ‘Ihya’ ‘Ulum ad-Din’ (5/45) that Hattit az-Zayyat went to al-Hajjaj, and when he entered, al-Hajjaj said to him: “You are Hattit?” He answered: “Yes. Ask me what you want, as I have made a pact with Allah at the Maqam of Ibrahim that I would do three things: i) I will speak the truth if I am asked a question, ii) I will remain patient if I am tested, and iii) I will be thankful if I am spared.” So, al-Hajjaj said to him: “What do you think of me?” Hattit replied: “You are from the enemies of Allah on Earth. You violate honor and kill based on suspicion.” al-Hajjaj then asked him: “What do you say about ‘Abd al-Malik bin Marwan?” Hattit replied: “He is worse than you, and you are simply one of his many mistakes.” al-Hajjaj then ordered that he be tortured, and he was then beaten with sticks and had his flesh stretched out with them until it was torn. His torturers didn’t hear him say anything, and they said to al-Hajjaj: “He is near death!” So, al-Hajjaj said: “Let him go and throw him out into the marketplace.” So, Ja’far (a friend of his) went to Hattit and said: “Hattit, do you want me to get you anything?” He said: “A drink of water.” So, the water was brought to him and he died, and he was only eighteen years old.

adh-Dhahabi related in ‘Siyar A’lam an-Nubala” (9/204) that Abd ar-Rahman bin Rustah asked ‘Abd ar-Rahman bin Mahdi that if a man had just gotten married and was having relations with his wife on the first night, was he allowed to leave off the congregational prayer for a few days? Ibn Mahdi replied: “No, not a single prayer.” Later, Ibn Mahdi himself had a daughter who had just gotten married. So, the morning after the wedding, he made the call to prayer and walked to her door. He told the servant to tell those inside to come out for the prayer. The women and servants all came out startled, saying: “Subhan Allah! What is wrong?!” He said: “I will not leave until you all come out to the prayer.” So, they all came out, and he purposely sent them to a mosque that was out of the way.

In as-Sudays’s biography of Muhammad al-Amin ash-Shinqiti (p. 204-205), it is related that a man backbit someone in ash-Shinqiti’s presence. So, he forbade him from this, and the backbiter said: “I am the one speaking, not you.” So, the Shaykh replied: “I am carrying ‘al-Baqarah’ in my chest. Either politely be quiet or get out.”

adh-Dhahabi also related in ‘as-Siyar’ (7/184) that Sufyan ath-Thawri said: “Whenever I see something that I should speak up about and fail to do so, I urinate blood.”

He also related in ‘as-Siyar’ (7/196) that Shuja’ bin Walid said: “I performed the Hajj with Sufyan, and he would come and go with his tongue never ceasing to command the good and forbid the evil.”

He also related (7/197) that when al-Mahdi come into power, he sent for Sufyan. When Sufyan entered, al-Mahdi removed his ring and threw it at Sufyan and said: “O Aba ‘Abdillah, this is my ring. Work for this nation according to the Qur’an and the Sunnah.” So, Sufyan took the ring and said: “Do you permit me to speak, O Commander of the Believers? Can I speak with your promise not to harm me?” He said: “Yes.” So, Sufyan said: “Do not send for me again until I come to you myself, and do not give me anything unless I ask you for something.” So, al-Mahdi become enraged and wanted to kill him, but his assistant reminded him that he had promised not to harm Sufyan. So, Sufyan was kicked out of the palace and his companions asked him: “What made you refuse? He only asked you to work according to the Qur’an and Sunnah!” So, Sufyan belittled their intellects due to their missing the point and he ran away as a fugitive to al-Basrah.

al-Mahdi later said (7/201): “I was unable to look at Sufyan out of haya’ and intimidation from him.”

He also related (7/199) that Sufyan went to Abu Ja’far when they were at Mina and said to him: “Fear Allah! You are in this position and have this power due to the swords of the Muhajirin and Ansar, and their sons are dying of hunger! ‘Umar made the Hajj and spent only fifteen dinars, and he used to shade himself under the trees!” So, Abu Ja’far said: “Do you want me to be like you?” Sufyan said: “No. Just be below what you are and above what I am.” Abu Ja’far said: “Get out.”

He also related (7/209) that Yahya bin ‘Abd al-Malik bin Abi Ghaybah said: “I never saw anyone with a more confrontational face for the sake of Allah than Sufyan.”

It was also related from Ibn Abi Hatim that there was a blind man who used to sit with Sufyan. When it was Ramadan, the man would go lead the people in prayer, and they would give him clothes and gifts as a reward for this. So, Sufyan said: “On the Day of Resurrection, the people of the Qur’an will come with their Qur’an, and it will be said to the likes of this person: ‘You have already received your reward previously.’” So, the man said to him: “O Aba ‘Abdillah, you say this while I am sitting right next to you?” Sufyan replied: “I fear that it will be said to me on the Day of Resurrection that you were sitting next to me and I did not advise you.”

Shaykh Sulayman al-’Utaybee & Shaykh Abu Dujaanah al-Qahtaanee are martyred

by hijralishahada in Refutations

May Allah ‘Azza wa Jall accept these two Mujaahid Shuyookh as Shuhadaa’. They were in ‘Iraaq, fighting under the leadership of the Islaamic State, and then made Hijrah to the land of Afghanistan - the land of freedom and religion - and now their dream has come true: Imaan, Hijrah, Jihaad, and Shahaadah.

And if you were to put everything you can possibly enjoy in this world on one side of the scale, and put these four things on the other side, by Allah there is nothing more sweeter and enjoyable than this! So let the sitters sit and let the dreamers dream; the only chance we have of obtaining such a lofty position is the Mercy of Allah.

Shaykh Sulaymaan al-’Utaybee, who is a student of a Shaykh Naasir al-’Umar, said in his speech when he was the Shari’ah Judge of the Islaamic State of ‘Iraaq:

“O Allah! Seal my life with martyrdom from You with which You will forgive my sins, and be pleased with me, and laugh (with joy and happiness) at me.”

And our message to the Ummah is to pay attention to his words:

“O Islaamic Nation! We fight and wage Jihaad for the sake of Allah when the Cross Worshiper came to attack the Muslim land, and when they inflicted horrible harm on its inhabitants, killing your sons and sparing your women. [2:49]

We ask Allah to accept them amongst the Shuhadaa’.

Here are three statements in Arabic (one in English) regarding this. The first is by Al-Fajr Media Center, the second is by Shaykh Mustapha Abu al-Yazeed (accompanied with a translation), and the third is by Al-Ansar Mailing List; the last one uploads all of Shaykh al-’Utaybee’s works for those interested.

O UMMAH OF MUHAMMAD
by Shaykh Khaalid ar-Raashid (may Allah free him)

This is a beautiful lecture by the imprisoned Shaykh regarding the printing of the cartoons by Denmark and their hositility towards Allah and His Messenger. It made me cry and also reminded me how short we are of our claims of loving the Prophet (saw).

“O people! Repeat your prayer, for your imam has disbelieved!”

by hijralishahada in History, Refutations, Sincerity

“Taha Husayn (a well-known secularist) had just graduated from the Old Egyptian University, and he was blind at the time. It was decided that he could be sent abroad to Europe (to complete his studies). So, the ruler invited him to a generous reception and showered him with many nourishing and helpful gifts. After this incident, Muhammad al-Mahdi gave the Friday sermon, and at that time, he was a government preacher whose sermons were attended by scholars and secretaries and other major figures. So, the preacher (Muhammad al-Mahdi) began praising the ruler excessively, to the point that he said, regarding the ruler: “And the blind one came to him, so he did not frown or turn away” (a mocking reference to the Prophet - peace be upon him - in the story the chapter of ‘‘Abasa’).

And from the attendees of this sermon was my father, the Shaykh, the Qadi, Muhammad Shakir. So, he got up after the prayer and said to the people: “O people! Repeat your prayer, for your imam has disbelieved!” Then he made the call to prayer from anew and prayed, and behind him prayed every single person in the masjid.

I swear by Allah that afterwards I saw Muhammad al-Mahdi with my own two eyes as a pathetic and subdued servant at the entrance of a masjid in Cairo, taking the shoes of the worshippers and putting them away for them in a state of humiliation and lowliness.”

The Makkan Siege: In Defense of Juhaymān

by hijralishahada in History, Refutations

I got this from inshaalahshaheed.

This is an excellent book that clears some part of the dust covering the history of this blessed ummah. I strongly recommend this book as a must read for all who has the love of the ummah at heart.

juhaiman

Imām Juhaymān رحمه الله said:

“Then when his (‘Abdul ‘Azīz – may Allāh curse him) kingdom was established and goal achieved, he then allied himself with the Christians. And he stopped the continuation of the Jihād in the path of Allāh outside of Jazīrah (Arab Lands). Thus when they (Ikhwān) went out to fight the Mushrikīn of ‘Irāq who called ‘Alī and Fātimah and Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein with Allāh (in Shirk), they named them –him [‘Abdul Azīz] and the Shuyūkh of ignorance with him - with a name which the people of Islām hates and it is Khawārij; while the Ikhwān did not rebel against him and they did not obey him when he forbade them from Jihād, and after he named them khawārij, he incited those who did not go out with them (Ikhwān) to fight them.”

Hence after deeply thinking, it is clear that the puppet scholars of the tāghūt have amplified the matter as to make the people hate him so much that he is portrayed as a traitor, a Dajjāl, a devious kāfir and corrupter. Thus they did this so none would even want to hear the arguments of Juhaymān رحمه الله. And it is similar to the attempted character assassination of the likes of Sayyid Qutb رحمه الله by the likes of Rabī’u and other rented donkeys of the Salūlī Government.
